Northwest Regional PFLAG Conference
Kathy Reim, Washington State PFLAG Chair DoubleTree Hotel in Portland, Oregon 360-305-0909 to reach Dotti Berry kReim@earthlink.net for questions about conference
"Celebrating our Cultural Tapestry" is the theme of the conference.
The 2006 Northwest PFLAG Regional Conference will be both a celebration and an opportunity to work together to build a strong NW Region. Many of the workshops will focus on enhancing the work that individual PFLAG chapters in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington are currently doing to ensure that GLBT loved ones are treated with respect in all aspects of their lives, whether as students in schools, employees in the work environment or partners seeking legal recognition of their relationships.

Dotti and Roby will be presenting, "How Do We Claim the Gift That We are?"
Workshop date, time & description:
Saturday, April 22. This workshop will be presented two times: 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 2:15-3:30 p.m.
How do we claim the gift that we are? Dotti will use the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics to illustrate how we can claim and embrace, rather than defend, our gifts. Doing this has the potential of opening a new space for the growth of us all, and evolving society to a new level in the process. Through active intention and consciousness, she will illustrate how to positively use the “tension” that we sometimes avoid in our relationships in order to feel accepted and loved. Claiming the gift means utilizing this “natural tension” that happens when we begin to evolve, allowing the potential of creating greater intimacy with others and ourselves. Dotti and Roby will share examples of how that process for creating a more dynamic and authentic way of living has worked in their lives.
We will both also be on a panel, "Celebrating Unseen Hearts/Habits of Lesbians." This panel will be offered twice on Saturday, April 22: 9:30 a.m.- 10:45 a.m. and 3:45 - 5:00 p.m.
Register early for the conference and choose the "3 on 1" meal opportunity with speakers. One will be Saturday dinner (5:30 - 6:30) and the other will be Sunday breakfast (7:45 to 8:45).
Dotti & Roby will also speak (11:00-11:30 a.m.) at the closing on Sunday, April 23, offering "Observations from Gay Into Straight America," as they share some of their thoughts/experiences in their journey to-date.
